The resources documented on this site were assembled to support research projects at the University of Michigan. Funds for the acquisition of these materials and the research projects they support were provided by the Andrew W. Mellon Foundation and the National Institute on Child Health and Human Development. The documentation provided here is available for public use. The data sets themselves were produced by the Instituto Brasileiro de Geografia e Estatística (IBGE), and can be purchased directly from IBGE via the “Loja Virtual” on the IBGE web site.
